Car Insurance Volkswagen (Car Insurance). What is the normal oil temperature for 2002 Ford Expedition?

What is the normal oil temperature for 2002 Ford Expedition? I am just very curious because I never really noticed the oil temp and today it was a little above the halfway mark. I have never seen it go past this amount and I just want to know from other owners and get some feedback. Is this normal? Thanks.

Anywhere from about 160-210°F would be considered normal on most engines. Since your gauge doesn't have any units, somewhere in the middle would be normal. I would also look at the coolant temp gauge and make sure that is in the middle as well. I wouldn't worry about it until either gauge gets to about 3/4 of the way to hot. If you're still concerned, you can check your oil and coolant levels.

Volkswagen . How do I know if my license is suspended?

How do I know if my license is suspended? So here's the story. I live in NJ, and am licensed in NJ as well. I got an underage drinking citation in PA, where I go to school. When I went to court to pay the fines and everything, the judge told me that my license would be suspended for 3 months. My lawyer told me that only PA would know of the suspension and that I would get a letter in the mail from Penn Dot confirming the suspension. However, its been a month since my trial with the judge, and no such letter has arrived at either my school mailbox or at my home in NJ. Am I not supposed to receive a letter or something and just assume the suspension has started already? car insurance.

Volkswagen . How to Install a Rear View Mirror

Federal law mandates that all vehicles manufactured today have a rearview mirror if the vehicle is equipped with a rear window. However, because the mirror is essentially glued onto the windshield it is somewhat common for the mirror to fall off. If this happens you need to either reinstall it or install a new rearview mirror. If you choose to drive the vehicle without one, you risk being fined if pulled over in a traffic stop and you risk failing a state vehicle inspection.
Difficulty:Moderately Easy
Instructions Things You'll Need
Scraper
Rearview mirror kit consisting of mirror, button and set-screw
Alcohol rubs
Rearview mirror adhesive
Allen wrench

Step by Step :
1
Scrape the old glue off the inside of the windshield with a small metal scraper or flat razor blade.
2
Wipe the windshield clean with an alcohol rub.
3
Coat the back of the rearview mirror button with rearview mirror adhesive. This adhesive is readily available at most auto part stores.
4
Press the button onto the windshield and hold it in place for one minute while the glue becomes tacky. Let go of the button but wait one hour before attaching the mirror to the button.
5
Place the base of the rearview mirror onto the windshield, directly above the button and then slide the mirror onto the button.
6
Tighten the set-screw located on the base of the mirror. This secures the mirror to the button. Usually, the set-screw requires an Allen wrench for tightening.
Tips & Warnings
Do not install a rearview mirror on a windshield that is hot. Park the vehicle in the shade and allow the windshield to cool off. If you do it on a hot windshield, the glue dries too quickly and proper adhesion is not maintained.

Volkswagen . Car Replacement Mirror Installation

The rear view mirror plays an important part in a driver's life. It allows you to see what is going on behind you,, such as an emergency vehicle that needs to pass or a police officer trying to get your attention. Without a rear view mirror, you could jeopardize your driving safety, as well as fail a state DMV or insurance company inspection. Installing a replacement rear view mirror does not take a lot of time and it does not require an in-depth knowledge of automobile mechanics.
Difficulty:Easy
Instructions Things You'll Need
Allen screw
Torx driver
New rear view mirror

Step by Step :
1
Inspect the set-screw at the base of the replacement rear view mirror. Usually, the screw is designed for use with an Allen wrench or a Torx driver. An Allen wrench has five points and a Torx driver has eight points. Locate the correct tool for your mirror.
2
Back the set-screw out of the base of the mirror. Inspect the underside of the mirror to ensure the set-screw does not stick out. If you want, remove the set-screw completely.
3
Place the rear view mirror against the windshield, directly above the metal button glued to the windshield.
4
Slide the mirror onto the button until it seats into place. The mirror hangs on the button without you holding it. It will not fall off.
5
Tighten the set-screw to lock the rear view mirror onto the button.

The throttle controls the amounts of fuel and air that come into the carburetor (refer to Figure 6-5). The more air, the higher the vacuum in the venturi. The greater the vacuum in the venturi, the more fuel is drawn out of the float bowl and mixed with the air. The richer the fuel/air mixture, the faster the car goes At high speeds, the throttle is wide open to allow a lot of air to come into the carburetor. At low speeds, the throttle closes so that less air can get in. The big lever on the outside of the carburetor (see Figure 6-6) is the throttle arm. It's attached to the gas pedal and controls the throttle, which is a butterfly device (very much like the butterfly valve) located at the bottom of the carburetor, where it joins the intake manifold. Figure 6-6: The throttle arm on the outside of the carburetor. Part II: What Makes It Go?. The idle speed screvO The idle speed screw is a little screw located at the bottom of your carbure tor, on the outside, right near the throttle. It keeps the throttle from closing completely when your foot is off the gas pedal and the car is idling. Cars idle while they wait for stoplights to turn green.) The idle speed screw is easy to adjust and can do wonders for your engine performance and fuel consumption if it's set properly after you tune your ignition system. If you turn it clockwise with a screwdriver, your car idles faster; turn it counterclockwise, and your car idles more slowly. Chapter 13 has more detailed instructions. (Don't get the idle speed screw confused with the idle mixture screw, however. Figure 6-7 shows you what each of them looks like.) The idle mixture screw The idle mixture screw looks like the idle speed screw, but it controls the proportion of air and fuel that get to your engine while your car is idling. By turning this screw, you can determine how rich the fuel/air mixture is. If you adjust it properly, you can get maximum engine performance and still save fuel. A carburetor with more than one barrel can have more than one idle mixture screw. The screw (or screws) may reside in a variety of places, depending on your vehicle. Figures 6-3 and 6-7 show a couple of possible locations. You can identify an idle mixture screw by the fact that, if you turn it counterclockwise, the end of the screw comes out of the carburetor. However, because of state .Chapter 6: The Fuel System: The Heart and Lungs of Your Car and federal smog standards, most car manufacturers place limiter caps on the idle mixture screws or hide them behind metal plugs to prevent owners from adjusting them. If the idle mixture screw(s) on your vehicle are adjustable, you can find instructions for adjusting them in Chapter 13. The idle air bleed screw Some cars don't have an idle speed screw. Instead, they have an idle air bleed screw (or idle air adjusting screw, as it is sometimes called) that determines how much extra air is allowed to come in when the throttle is closed. When the throttle is closed during idling, some air should still come through to prevent the formation of carbon and gum deposits that tend to collect around the throttle area. By turning this screw clockwise, you can decrease the amount of air that gets in and slow down your idle. By turning it counterclockwise, you get more air and more idle speed. Air bleed screws are usually found on Lincolns, Cadillacs, and other big cars. Chapter 13 tells you how to adjust the idle air bleed screw. The idle stop solenoid

Some newer vehicles not only have an idle speed screw and an idle mixture screw but have an idle stop solenoid as well. Cars with engines with controlled exhaust emissions tend to idle at faster speeds. Often, if such an engine is shut off abruptly, the engine simply can't stop fast enough and keeps going, or dieseling. The idle stop solenoid prevents the car from continuing to idle after you shut it off. More bang for your buck To increase the amount of fuel/air mixture thafs at high speeds or stress. You can see why V-8 passed along to the engine, auto manufacturers engines consume more fuel than most four- or have developed carburetors with more than one six-cylinder engines do. Of course, they put out carburetor barrel. A double-barrel carburetor more power, too. And if you like to drive a big, has two Venturis, and a four-barrel carburetor impressive vehicle around — or if you want to has four. You generally find these on large drive up hills at high speeds—that's the kind oi engines, like V-8s, where more fuel and air are engine you need. Just don't confuse powerw'tth needed fast to supply all those cylinders with efficiency. A smaller engine will do just as good stuff to feed on. In a four-barrel carburetor, two a job if it's not hauling a lot of extra junk around, of the four barrels are reserved for extra power 116 Part II: What Makes It Go? To see whether your vehicle has an idle stop solenoid, look for a little can-shaped device attached to the carburetor near the throttle. When it's time to tune your carburetor, read the instructions for adjusting the idle stop solenoid in Chapter 13. The intake and exhaust manifolds The fuel/air mixture travels past the throttle at the bottom of the carburetor to the intake manifold, a cluster of iron pipes usually found near the top of the engine, between the carburetor and the engine block. Another set of manifold pipes, called the exhaust manifold, carries carbon monoxide and other vapor wastes away from the engine for disposal. You usually find the exhaust manifold either lower down on the same side of the engine as the intake manifold or on the other side of the cylinder head. Figure 6-8 traces the fuel/air mixture's progress from the carburetor to the engine block. To pick up the trail from there, see "The Engine Block: Where the Fuel System and the Ignition System Meet" at the end of this chapter. Combustion chamber
